Louisiana MENTOR Receives COA Accreditation

16 October 2014

Louisiana MENTOR earned accreditation from the Council on Accreditation (COA), recently receiving its formal accreditation notification letter and an accreditation plaque from the organization. COA accreditation benefits both the individuals served by Louisiana MENTOR and its staff, and allows for the expansion and diversification of services provided across the state.

“Accreditation is a tremendous achievement that demonstrates that your organization has been recognized as a provider that has successfully implemented high-performance standards and, as such, is delivering the highest quality services to all of its stakeholders,” COA president and CEO Richard Klarberg said.
Klarberg sent his appreciation to the entire Louisiana MENTOR staff for the collective hard work needed over several months to achieve this accreditation. “You should all take enormous delight to be part of COA’s Community of Excellence,” he said.
For individuals served by Louisiana MENTOR, as well as those looking for services, the benefits of this accreditation include further assurance that services meet best-practice standards and are delivered by appropriately trained staff, and that the privacy of each individual is protected. For staff members, the COA accreditation means that their health and safety are protected, that risk and liability are minimized, and that the service environments are efficient, effective and supported by a quality, improvement-oriented culture.
“Becoming COA accredited is a tremendous achievement for Louisiana MENTOR and our entire staff,” Louisiana MENTOR quality assurance specialist Michelle Berry said. “This demonstrates that our organization has been recognized as a provider that has successfully implemented high-performance standards.”
