Therapeutic Foster Care
Our Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) program provides children and adolescents from troubled families with a warm, stable environment coupled with the interventions needed to address emotional and behavioral challenges often stemming from abuse and neglect. We carefully match each youth with a dedicated caregiver, called a Mentor, taking into account the needs and interests of the individual and their Mentor. By creating good matches our Mentors are able to develop meaningful relationships with the youth in their home which is the foundation of our continued success.
Our Mentors provide children and adolescents with therapeutic intervention, nurturing support and consistent guidance in addition to providing routine family and community-based activities. A Clinical Coordinator oversees implementation of an individualized treatment plan with emphasis on discharge planning to assure the youth’s appropriate progress and transition to home, permanent placement, adoption or independent living.
